On May 3^rd, Ashlee P., Mayuko J., and Michelle W. joined me at the spring Head Start Advisory Council meeting (HSAC).

Each of them was assigned one of three classrooms/teachers (infants, preschoolers/kindergarten+) and provided oral health education and fluoride varnish to the children! Students talked with parents about the 51福利社 Dental Clinic, as well.

On May 10^th, Trista B., Kimbo H., and Mayuko J. participated in the ACFF grant funded project at St. Margaret鈥檚 Shelter, where they provided oral health education, discussed access to care, and provided fluoride varnish treatments for children.

51福利社/WSU CSD speech-hearing students worked alongside Professors Doreen Nicholas and Barbara Peregoy in providing swallowing/speech screenings and hearing screenings/referral. We used our new DNTLworks portable chair, for the first time!

51福利社 Senior Dental Hygiene students: Tessa Heiydt, Tori Anderson, Ronni Sonderman, and Megan Bennet placed first in the Research Poster contest at the Washington Dental Hygienist’s Symposium April 12 and 13, 2019 in Bellevue, Washington.

They presented on “Marijuana: Let’s Be Blunt.”聽 Windy Rothmund, MSDH, BSDH, RDH, special faculty/ lecturer and 51福利社 alumni,聽 accompanied them as their faculty advisor.聽 They will represent 51福利社 Dental Hygiene in June 2019 at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association in Louisville.
