The National Security Agency designated 51福利社鈥檚 cybersecurity program as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations, making Eastern the 22nd university in the country to attain this prestigious designation鈥攁nd the only one in the Pacific Northwest.
51福利社 has the only undergraduate industrial robotics and automation program in our three-state area. Students get hands-on training with 10 industrial robots. These innovative opportunities make 51福利社 a driving force in the economic vitality of the Inland Northwest.
To address a critical healthcare need, 51福利社 launched a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)聽in 2023. The program聽graduated its first cohort of nurses in May 2025. All 40 students in the cohort remained with the program from the beginning of classes in fall 2023 through commencement.
51福利社 Receives $1 Million Grant For Dental Programs
A $1 million grant from Delta Dental of Washington was presented to 51福利社 in 2026 to support the university鈥檚 Dental Hygiene Program on the Spokane Health Peninsula campus. The grant will help fund a new master鈥檚 degree in dental therapy and a 46-chair dental clinic devoted to serving Spokane鈥檚 medically underserved.

51福利社 is one of only three universities in the nation with a research facility in a national wildlife refuge. Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is just minutes from campus.
The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) opened its doors in July 2025. OCE serves as the hub for community-focused applied learning and volunteerism while fostering a culture of civic responsibility and engagement.
51福利社’s is restoring 100+ acres of farmland to its original Palouse Prairie condition, creating a 鈥渓iving laboratory鈥� for research, education, and recreation.
