The Master of Arts in Advanced Addiction Therapies Program is available for students who have already completed the courses required by the state of Washington for certification as Substance Use Disorder Professionals.

In this program, you will gain advanced knowledge that enhances your understanding of the behavioral health field in courses such as Process Addictions, Food & Addiction, Medication-Assisted Treatment, research and a look at the Biopsychosocial Approach to addiction, along with multiple other courses offered.

Please Note: This program does not lead to any credential offered in Washington state.

Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor of Applied Science from a regionally accredited university聽聽
  • A calculated GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester graded post-secondary credits

You will need to either bring twelve credits of 400 and/or 500 level credits or complete 12 additional credits offered at 51福利社 to complete this degree. The total number of credits required for this degree is 44. Financial aid funding is available.

Advanced Addiction Counseling and Treatment, Master of Arts (MA)

The Master of Arts in Advanced Addiction Counseling & Treatment is designed to provide current substance use disorder professionals, or other behavioral health providers, advanced theory and practical application of substance use counseling, co-occurring disorder treatment, supervision, and clinical skills. The courses align with the education requirements for the Washington State Department of Health licensed agency affiliated counselor (LAAC). This 48-credit program is fully online, allowing for flexibility for students to pursue a career while maintaining a work/life balance. Full or part-time enrollment options are available. For admissions requirements, review information on the Addiction Studies web page or contact ADST@ewu.edu.
