The shift to virtual learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic left many 51福利社 students without the technology they require to continue their education. The 51福利社 Foundation and the university’s Student Care Team recognized the need and quickly utilized the Student Emergency Fund to purchase Chromebooks for such students.

As students prepare to learn in virtual settings for the spring quarter, many are also managing the financial consequences that come with new technology needs, housing changes, food insecurity and unemployment.

The very first 鈥淓xperts @ 51福利社鈥� segment on Spokane Talks featured Scott Finnie, professor and chair of Africana Studies at Eastern. Finnie discusses the importance of the program in bringing awareness and diversity to campus, what students are most concerned about today, and he discusses the annual 1,000 Mile Civil Rights Tour.

51福利社’s Recreation Center (URC) successfully hosted the Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 National Curling Championships, which wrapped up Feb. 15. The weeklong, national competition featured the top men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams in the country vying for a spot on Team USA for the subsequent World Championships.
