About

Donna Bachand came to 51福利社 in 2018 to develop a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program.聽 She previously served Concordia University-Portland as inaugural Professor and later, Director of the undergraduate traditional and accelerated nursing programs.聽 In addition to clinical and classroom teaching, Dr. Bachand led student trips to Mexico and Nicaragua for international experiences in health promotion and community health.

Dr. Bachand earned a BSN from Arkansas State University and started her career as a registered nurse at St. Jude鈥檚 Children鈥檚 Research Hospital in Memphis.聽 Later, she worked in the adult oncology and bone marrow transplant services at Baylor University Medical Center and as a clinical nurse specialist at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.聽 She earned both MS and PhD degrees in nursing at Texas Woman鈥檚 University, where she started her teaching career.

Outside of teaching, Dr. Bachand has worked in cardiothoracic surgery research and has led medical mission teams to India and Haiti.

Kiley Feeney came to 51福利社 in 2025.聽 She previously worked with prelicensure students at Wenatchee Valley College.聽 Kiley earned a BSN and MSN-Education from the University of Wyoming focusing on rural population health and rural nursing education. Her practicum centered around incentives for registered nurses who precept students.

She started her career as a registered nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry unit at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.聽 Later, she worked in rural ambulatory Cardiology and rural emergency nursing in and around Wenatchee, WA. She is a board certified Cardiac-Vascular nurse and is a trained Wilderness First Responder.

Outside of education and clinical practice, you can find Kiley somewhere outside riding bikes, skiing, running, sailing, and foraging. She’s also a big fan of hockey – Go Eags!

Brenda Hulett earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Gonzaga University before attending Spokane Community College to achieve her Associate degree in Nursing, followed by earning a master鈥檚 degree in nursing education from Gonzaga University. Brenda received her PhD in Nursing from Washington State University with a research focus on Multiple Myleoma Cancer Survivorship. She has worked in a large urban hospital, a critical access rural hospital, and ambulatory care, with specialties in adult oncology and general adult medical-surgical care. She has experience precepting new RN hires, precepting students as well as educating in the classroom and skills labs.

Brenda is interested in the holistic care of the person, both in the classroom and in the clinical settings. Holistic care is considering all aspects of an individual鈥檚 situation and working with the individual toward success. Faculty and students work together toward graduation, just like nurses and patients work together toward health.

About

Dr. Teresa Rangel holds a PhD in nursing from Washington State University. Her clinical experience is working with inpatient acutely homicidal and suicidal adults, as well as impatient telemetry for adults.

Dr. Rangel鈥檚 research interests focus on investigating ways to manage pain both pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. She also leads a research trajectory on the holistic well being of healthcare professionals, with a particular emphasis on the health impacts of working extended overnight shifts. Recently, Dr. Teresa Rangel has created and evaluated online and gamified educational sessions ‘ influences on professional development outcomes among licensed healthcare professionals and student nurses.

Jacquie Strack earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Arizona, she then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania working in a pediatric hospital.聽 This inspired her to pursue a career in nursing, she pursued and graduated with Master’s focus in Nursing from the University of Arizona.聽 She has worked in a large academic setting hospital with specialties in adult health focusing on postoperative cancer patients and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).聽 She has experience in hospital based committees implementing evidence based projects, as well as precepting nursing students and new graduate nurses.聽 聽She also has extensive experience teaching in various nursing programs in Tucson, AZ.

Jacquie is passionate about ensuring students have everything they need to be successful and feel supported as they embark on their nursing career.聽 She strives to create a collaborative and safe learning environment for students in all educational settings.

About

Russell comes to the 51福利社 nursing program with nearly thirty years of registered nurse experience. He obtained his original RN from Shoreline Community College, where he returned twenty-five years later and taught senior nursing students. Russ holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of Washington and a master鈥檚 degree from Seattle Pacific University in nursing administration & leadership. Russ has worked in public health for eighteen years serving clients in prevention, infectious disease, jail, addiction, and occupational health. For the next twelve years Russ taught as adjunct nursing faculty and specialized in juvenile mental health. 鈥淢aking a difference in such harsh and challenging environments is an honor and humbling at the same time.鈥�

Russ believes candid and meaningful interaction with nursing students promotes a robust and thoughtful graduate. 鈥淭hese graduates will be the future of a very complicated healthcare system, seems imperative to give them our best.鈥�

Outside of nursing Russ was a deckhand on a commercial longline schooner in the Bering Sea many years ago. While enjoying all types of recreational fishing, navigating a mountain river with a flyrod is his first choice.
