Check Your Eligibility
You can do Running Start during your junior and/or senior years of high school if:
- You’re a Washington state student
- You’re enrolled in a high school eligible for Running Start
- You have a GPA of 2.7 or higher
- If your GPA is a 3.0 or higher, congratulations! You will be automatically accepted.
- If your GPA is between 2.7 and 3.0,聽you鈥檒l need a聽recommendation letter from a non-family member. The letter must address your:
- autonomy
- self-motivation
- time-management skills
- analytical thinking skills

What You’ll Need
- A copy of your high school transcript(s).
- This includes any private high school or homeschool transcripts you may have.
- Make sure this is an unofficial copy of your transcript, not a progress report or a report card. You can get a copy of your transcript from your high school counselor or another high school administrator.
What to Know
- Email Address: Use your personal email, not your high school email, to make sure you don’t miss important 51福利社 messages.
- Plan Ahead:聽High school counselors typically don’t work during the summer. If you plan to apply for fall, meet with your counselor before the end of the school year to request your transcript.
- Double-Check Spelling: Confirm that your name, email, parent/guardian’s name and email, and counselor’s name and email are all spelled correctly.
