Minor in Mathematics/Secondary

About

Prepare to teach mathematics at the secondary level while building on your primary field of study. Completing this minor, along with 51¸£ÀûÉç’s Secondary Education requirements and a major field of study, satisfies Washington State requirements for a secondary mathematics teaching endorsement (grades 5–12).

This minor can also be completed as an add-on secondary mathematics endorsement. Completing Ìý´Ç°ùÌý fulfills 51¸£ÀûÉç’s Mathematical Reasoning competency requirement.

All certification candidates must pass the NES subject matter test to qualify for endorsement.

Secondary Mathematics Minor

Prerequisite Grade Policy: Students must have earned a grade ≥C or better in any course that is to be used to satisfy a prerequisite requirement for a subsequent mathematics course offered by the 51¸£ÀûÉç Department of Mathematics.

Grade Requirements: Students must receive a grade ≥C in each course used to satisfy the requirements of an undergraduate major or minor in mathematics.
